Innovation in China

China is booming. Shanghai has become the new role model of a world megalopolis and makes New York and London look pale. But innovation seems to be lagging behind - it still in manufacturing and construction the Chinese excel. After a week in Bejing and Shanghai one of the few innovative solutions we liked was this (see pic): a texture on every sidewalk that helps blind people walk straight and makes them aware of when there is a crossing - very simple and elegant and smart... and helpful!
