Nobel Prize Winner in Almedalen

Almedalen, on wonderful Gotland, is the center of Swedish POWER once again this summer. Today the Nobel Prize winner Edmund Phelps entered the stage in the PR-Tivoli in Almdedalen just to say what everybody knew - Sweden needs entrepreneurship and innovation! What he put emphasis on was that Sweden need more dynamics. Phelps seemed to mean that we need to toss things up in the air some more and enter different forms of creative destruction. You know what - he might have a point there...

Open Innovation and Future Space Travel

Nothing scares the IPR department like the magic words "open innovation". Apparently one of the most secret organizations in the world, namely NASA, holds external design and innovation contests to rake in some novel ideas on their specific challenges (article in the New York Times Magazine). Another example is Procter & Gamble who also experiments with open innovation. It's not scary guys; it's just one of the many ways you need to be open to in order to stay ahead...
